Smokehouse & Grill announces the arrival of BeaverTails pastries!
27 November 2006 - Broad Street Smokehouse & Grill is proud to announce that BeaverTails Pastries are going to debut at the annual 'Downtown For The Holidays' celebration on Saturday, December 2. This is the first official location for BeaverTails in the New York / New Jersey area. BeaverTails Pastries are the fresh and tasty dessert from BeaverTails Canada. They became known as BeaverTails because that is what they look like - a beaver's tail. BeaverTails are whole wheat pastries that are stretched and cooked to a slightly crispy outside. They are then topped with delectable flavors such as chocolate, hazelnut and apple, though the original Cinnamon & Sugar is still the most popular. Dawn & Michael Fidanza of Broad Street Smokehouse & Grill secured the franchise rights for New Jersey and much of New York and decided to debut the BeaverTails as part of the regular menu. "Having a BeaverTail at the tree lighting in Ridgewood is sure to become an instant classic" said Michael Fidanza. BeaverTails were introduced in the Ottawa area in the late 1970's by BeaverTail Canada founders Grant and Pam Hooker. Every winter, the Rideau Canal in Ottawa is cleared to form "the world's longest skating rink" during their Winterlude celebration every February. The pastries gained such a following that they are available all year at around 100 locations worldwide. "While this is first location in the area, it will not be the last. We already have several locations waiting for us to launch here to introduce the dessert to the NY Metropolitan region", said Michael. BeaverTails can be found at a variety of locations such as vacation resorts, sports venues, entertainment parks and shopping malls. After the debut, Broad Street Smokehouse & Grill will include BeaverTails on their regular dessert menu along with their authentic barbecue, delicious steaks and fresh grilled favorites. Broad Street welcomes the BeaverTail family to the greater New York / New Jersey area.
